About Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme
The Kisan Credit Card Scheme aims at providing adequate and timely credit support to farmers under a single window with flexible and simplified procedures for their cultivation and other needs, as detailed below:
- To meet short-term credit requirements for the cultivation of crops.
- Post-harvest expenses.
- Consumption requirements of the farmer's household.
- Working capital for maintenance of farm assets and activities allied to Agriculture, such as dairy animals and inland fisheries.
- Investment credit requirements for Agriculture and allied activities, such as pump sets, sprayers, and dairy animals, repayable within a period of one year.
- To extend KCC facilities to Animal Husbandry farmers and Fisheries for their working capital requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
- All Farmers – Individuals or Joint borrowers who are owner cultivators.
- Tenant Farmers, Oral Lessees, and Share Croppers.
- Self-Help Groups (SHGs) or Joint Liability Groups of Farmers, including tenant farmers and sharecroppers.
- The applicant should be in the age group of 18-70 years to be eligible for PAIS (Personal Accident Insurance Scheme).
